The project brief was to design a childcare centre for 70 children. The site possessed a heritage worker cottage at the front needed to be part of the design. To design this, we asked children to draw for us a building that they feel safe in. collectively, most of them considered a safe house with a pitch roof. This then we based our concept for the new extension at the rear. The pitch of the angel was based on the existing roof of the cottage to pay respect to the heritage cottage. We obtained the development application successfully and entering construction phase.
